FAQ
CURIOUS ABOUT DRONE FOOTAGE?
All packages of 8 hours or more include Drone Footage to capture stunning landscape shots of your location. David is a licensed remote pilot, which means we can legally use the drone to get incredible shots whenever permissible. In some circumstances, including proximity to airports, weather constraints, and laws in certain areas, it isn’t possible to get drone coverage. But we will if we can!
HOW DO I RECEIVE MY WEDDING FILM?
Your Wedding Film and Bonus Content Videos will be delivered through a beautiful custom online menu using Mediazilla.com. Your videos will be viewable, shareable, and downloadable! You can expect your film to be completed 8 to 10 weeks from your wedding date.

HOW MANY VIDEOGRAPHERS DO I NEED?
90% of our films are produced with a solo videographer (usually David) who always works with at least two cameras throughout the day. For example, during the ceremony, he will place a camera on a tripod to capture a wide angle of the action while he moves around on a monopod or gimbal to capture the close-ups and artistic shots that add beauty to your film. If adding an additional unique perspective is important to you, you can always add a second videographer to your package.
HOW DO YOU RECORD THE AUDIO FOR THE CEREMONY AND SPEECHES?
We work with your DJ to ensure that we are able to record everything coming from their sound board during the ceremony and speeches. Additionally, we attach a small digital recorder with an attached lavaliere mic to the groom as a backup. This small clip-on microphone is able to pick-up high quality audio from both the bride and groom during the ceremony.
WILL YOU SET UP VIDEO LIGHTS DURING THE RECEPTION?
Just like photography, beautiful video requires light. Light shapes and adds dimension to the onscreen image. While working in dimly lit environments like an evening reception, photographers have the benefit of using a camera flash that is really bright, but just for the split second needed to freeze the action…and then it's gone. With video we are recording continuously so light is needed continuously to capture a beautiful image. To shoot professional video in dimly lit conditions, there does need to be a directional light source. To avoid distraction, we discreetly typically set up a single LED light in the corner of the room, prior to your guests being seated, from just one direction and leave it there for the grand entrance, first dance, speeches, and parent dances. We then turn it to a low level for some of the guest dancing. Once we have what we need, we turn it completely off. Of course, if you prefer that we not use supplemental lighting, we will shoot in any conditions you want. This is your wedding and we respect either decision.
DO YOU CHARGE FOR TRAVEL?
We are based in Phoenix, Arizona. Travel fees for weddings outside of the Phoenix metro area will vary depending on location. Inquire for a quote.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU GET SICK AND CAN’T MAKE IT TO OUR WEDDING?
First, you should know that David has never missed a wedding in ten years of business. You should feel confident that he will be there! But…in the event of an emergency absence on your wedding day, know that we have you covered. As an educator and film instructor, David has made a lot of contacts with filmmakers (mostly former film students) ready to step in on short notice.
DO WE GET TO MEET YOU BEFORE THE WEDDING?
Yes! If you live in the Phoenix metro area, David would love to meet in person to discuss your wedding day. Otherwise, we can set up a video chat.
HOW CAN I GUARANTEE MY DATE?
We require a non-refundable $300 deposit upon booking. This will enable you to secure your date and this price will be deducted from the selected package. The remaining balance can be paid up to a week prior to your wedding.
HOW IS IT DETERMINED WHAT VIDEOGRAPHERS I WILL HAVE ON MY WEDDING DAY?
My Event Film is owned by David Nuttall and he is the lead videographer on all weddings. In addition, he personally edits every film. For packages with two-videographers, David has a small team of talented cinematographers, from which one will be assigned to assist him on your wedding day.
DO I HAVE TO COMMIT TO A SPECIFIC PACKAGE IN ORDER TO SECURE THE DAY?
Not at all! We understand that it's hard to determine coverage until you have a firm timeline of your day, which usually seems to come together about a month before the wedding day. We will guarantee our current packages/rates as they are when you book your wedding with us, so you can make a more informed decision on coverage when the time is right for you. Along with completing our booking form, we ask for a non-refundable deposit of $300 that can be paid by credit card, Venmo, Zelle or Credit Card (transaction fee applied).
HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE HIGHLIGHT FILM?
First, we carefully go through all the footage from your day and cut out anything that is unusable. We then take into account the feel and "rhythm" of your day as we cut the very best moments to the music selected for your film. To ensure that nothing is missed, our Full Feature and Cinematic packages include an Extra Footage cut as bonus content. This video plays like a home movie with all original audio intact and minimal editing.
CAN I PURCHASE ADDITIONAL HOURS OF COVERAGE BEYOND THE SELECTED PACKAGE?
Yes! You can add hours of coverage to any package for an additional $300 an hour.
IS YOUR BUSINESS INSURED?
Yep! General Liability and Aerial Drone Liability. If your venue needs a Certificate of Insurance, just let us know.
HAVE YOU EVER WORKED WITH MY PHOTOGRAPHER?
There is a very good chance that I have! I have developed strong working relationships with many Arizona-based photographers. I always reach out to them in advance to let them know that I will be working with them on your wedding day and that sets the stage for a very positive experience. My goal is for you to get an amazing wedding film and equally beautiful photographs. That only happens if the photographer and videographer work as a team. In fact, many of the weddings I shoot are referrals from photographers who enjoy working with me. If you are looking for photography recommendations please do not hesitate to ask!
